As the pilot project of a venture called "Space Cases," I provided architectural visualization services for a young couple in Torrance, CA. We discussed their concerns and walked through their home during an hour-long consultation. Afterwards, I was able to generate photorealistic renderings of proposed improvements. We agreed that the client would execute the proposal with their own contractor without further intervention from me, the designer.
Many architects recognize that renderings are often the easiest way for a client to grasp 3-dimensional design. These services are often cost-prohibitive and inaccessible to most homeowners. "Space Cases" attempts to lower cost by creating efficiency in the exchange of information. The designer's scope is limited to what is most critical for the average homeowner - the delivery of macro-level ideas. Often motivated clients need only a grander vision to get the ball rolling. In addition, renderings allow clients to visualize major changes (e.g. removal of walls) before committing to them.
The black and white images represent the Valencia residence in its current state. The colored images are the renderings of the proposed improvements to the space.
Please contact me if you are interested in a similar consultation. I hope to experiment with future projects that remain entirely remote and online to further lower costs.
